Refocusing the Church: The Great Commission Before Personal Ambition

Image
June 30, 2026 Key Scriptures: Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 1:8; Matthew 6:33; John 4:35; Romans 10:13–15 One of Satan's most subtle strategies against the Body of Christ—especially in Africa—is not always open persecution but distraction. His aim is to divert believers and churches from Christ's final command: the Great Commission. Rather than making disciples of all nations, many have become consumed with building personal ministries, expanding religious empires, and pursuing recognition. Even where missionary efforts exist, they can sometimes be driven more by self-interest than by a genuine passion for God's kingdom. This is a dangerous shift in focus. Jesus did not commission His Church merely to gather crowds but to make disciples of all nations. Before His ascension, He declared, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19–20). He also promised the empowering of the Holy Spirit so that His followers would be witnesses "to the e...

When God Speaks Before You See: Preparing for the Manifestation

Image
Key Scriptures: Genesis 27:27–29; Genesis 28:10–22; Genesis 32:24–30; Genesis 35:9–15; Habakkuk 2:3; Ecclesiastes 3:11. One of the profound truths in Scripture is that there is often a period between God's pronouncement and its manifestation. A promise may be spoken today, yet its fulfillment may unfold over months or even years. This interval is not a sign that God has forgotten His word. Rather, it is a season in which He prepares both the person and the foundation needed to sustain the blessing. Jacob: A Man Blessed Before He Was Ready Jacob's life illustrates this truth beautifully. Though he received his father's blessing (Genesis 27:27–29), he did not immediately enjoy its fullness. Instead, he experienced years of hardship, exile, labor, disappointments, and personal transformation. The delay was not because God's promise had failed, but because Jacob himself needed to be changed. His character had to be refined, his dependence on human wisdom broken, and h...

The Only True Source of Spiritual Power

Image
June 28,2026 "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me..." — Acts 1:8 (NKJV) Spiritual power is received only when the Holy Spirit comes upon and remains in the life of a believer. This is God's unchanging pattern for every Christian. The Biblical Pattern John the Baptist testified concerning Jesus: "He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, 'Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.'" — John 1:33 Even our Lord Jesus Christ did not begin His public ministry until after the Holy Spirit descended upon Him (Luke 3:21–22; Luke 4:18). If the Son of God followed this divine order, no believer should expect to be an exception. Beware of Counterfeit Power One of the greatest deceptions in our generation is the pursuit of supernatural power without the indwelling and leading of the Holy Spirit. Scripture never presents another legi...

The Danger of Unforgiveness and Bottled Anger

Image
June 27,2026 As children of God, we are called to walk in love, extend mercy, and forgive one another just as Christ has forgiven us. Unforgiveness, when left unresolved, gradually gives birth to bottled anger. Though it may remain hidden for years, it continues to grow beneath the surface until it eventually manifests in bitterness, resentment, harsh judgments, or even acts of retaliation. The Scriptures warn us against allowing bitterness to take root in our hearts. "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you" (Ephesians 4:32). Likewise, Hebrews 12:15 admonishes us to guard against any root of bitterness that may spring up and trouble us, thereby affecting many others. A sobering example is found in the relationship between Jacob and his firstborn son, Reuben. After Reuben defiled his father's bed (Genesis 35:22), Jacob did not publicly address the matter at that time. However, years later, when blessing his son...

Living the Christian Life with Responsibility and Integrity

Image
June 26, 2026 As I reflect on the state of contemporary Christianity, I am deeply concerned by the way many believers relate to one another, especially in the workplace and other professional settings. It is disheartening that people who share the same faith often struggle to build healthy, respectful, and trustworthy relationships. In some cases, the name of Christ is brought into disrepute because of irresponsible attitudes and poor work ethics displayed by those who profess to follow Him. One common misconception is the belief that being a Christian exempts a person from accountability or correction. However, Scripture teaches the exact opposite. When Moses was overwhelmed with leadership responsibilities, his father-in-law advised him to appoint capable men who feared God, were trustworthy, and hated dishonest gain (Exodus 18:21). God values diligence, wisdom, integrity, and responsibility. These qualities are not worldly virtues; they are marks of godly character. Laziness, carele...

Steadfast in Christ: The True Measure of Christian Faith

Image
June 25,2026 Key Scriptures: Ephesians 6:16; James 1:12; Hebrews 10:23; Romans 8:35-39; Job 1:21-22 Christianity is not the absence of trials, afflictions, or the enemy's attacks. The fact that believers face challenges does not diminish the reality of their faith. Scripture teaches that the devil will indeed launch his fiery darts against God's people (Ephesians 6:16), but the victory of the believer is found in remaining steadfast in Christ despite every opposition. The Christian life is not measured by how comfortable we feel, how wealthy we become, or whether we never experience sickness or hardship. Rather, it is demonstrated by unwavering faith, steadfast love for Christ, and a firm commitment to Him in every season of life. True Christianity is maintaining your first love for the Lord even in the midst of adversity, persecution, and life's uncertainties. Our confidence rests not in favorable circumstances but in the Person of Jesus Christ—the One who has saved us and...

The Heavenly Man and Our Glorious Transformation

Image
June 23, 2026 From the Scriptures, we saw that after His resurrection, Jesus possessed a body of flesh and bones (Luke 24:39). He was not merely a spirit; rather, He possessed a glorified form that surpassed the limitations of our present natural bodies. The Apostle Paul describes this as a "spiritual body" (1 Corinthians 15:44). Today, let us consider the significance of Christ's glorified state and what it means for every believer. After His resurrection, Jesus entered into the fullness of God's original purpose for humanity. He is the perfect expression of all that the Father intended man to be. Having conquered sin, death, and corruption, He now stands as the complete and perfected Man. Hebrews 1:3 declares that He is "the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person." In Christ, we see the flawless image of God, which was God's original design for mankind from the beginning (Genesis 1:26-27). The Heavenly Man The Apostle Paul te...

Growing into the Fullness of Christ

Image
June 20,2026 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.” — Luke 4:18 (KJV) One of the most remarkable truths of the gospel is that Jesus Christ came to transform lives. Everything He brought to humanity through His death, burial, and resurrection was designed to bring people out of bondage and into the blessings of God's Kingdom. His mission was not merely to sympathize with the cursed, the poor, the sick, or the lost, but to bring redemption, restoration, healing, and transformation. Jesus came to those who were spiritually poor so they could become rich in Him. He came to the sick to bring healing, to the captive to bring freedom, and to the lost so they might be found. His purpose has never been to leave people in their former condition. An encounter with Christ shou...

The Believer's Victory Over the Roaring Lion

Image
June 14, 2026 "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." — 1 Peter 5:8 The Scriptures reveal that Satan is a relentless adversary whose mission is to oppose God's people and hinder their walk with Christ. Jesus described him as a thief who comes "to steal, and to kill, and to destroy" (John 10:10). Therefore, believers must remain spiritually alert, discerning his devices and standing firm in the faith. The activity of Satan is clearly seen in the book of Job. When the Lord asked him where he had been, he answered, "From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it" (Job 1:7). This reveals his continual search for opportunities to accuse, tempt, and devour those who are vulnerable. Yet, there is wonderful news for every child of God: through the finished work of Jesus Christ, God is now for us and not against us. The sacrifice of Christ has reconciled us to...

The Peace that comes through God's Word

Image
June 21,2026 Key Scriptures: 2 Peter 1:2; 2 Timothy 1:7; John 14:27; Isaiah 26:3; Joshua 1:8 One of the precious blessings that accompanies the knowledge of God's Word is peace. As we grow in the understanding of Scripture, God's grace and peace are multiplied in our lives. The Apostle Peter wrote: "Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord" (2 Peter 1:2). The Word of God may convict us of sin, correct our ways, and lead us into righteousness, but it does not produce unnecessary fear, anxiety, or torment. God's Word brings light, hope, assurance, and stability to the heart. The Scriptures declare: "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7). If your heart is troubled, weary, or overwhelmed, spend time in God's presence and meditate on His Word. The Lord has provided His truth as a source of comfort and strength for every believer. The e...

The Tragedy of a Wrong Assignment

Image
June 19,2026 When Disobedience Delays Your Purpose and Hinders Others 📖 “And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, Arise, go to Nineveh... But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.” — Jonah 1:1–3 (KJV) June 19, 2026 Jonah was one of Israel's most respected prophets. God entrusted him with a clear mandate: to go to Nineveh and call its people to repentance. Yet instead of obeying, Jonah chose another path. He boarded a ship bound for Tarshish, attempting to flee from the presence and purpose of God. On that voyage, Jonah found himself among a group of sailors. Although he was God's prophet, he had little impact on those around him because he was traveling in disobedience. Rather than ministering, he remained silent. Rather than praying, he slept. Rather than serving God's purpose, he sought to escape it. As the storm intensified, the sailors eventually discovered that Jonah's disobedience was the cause of th...

Standing Together in the Battle: A Call to Intercession, Compassion, and Burden Bearing

Image
June 18, 2026 📖 "Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ." — Galatians 6:2 (KJV) Life is a battlefield, and every person is fighting a battle that may not be visible to others. Some are just entering a season of testing, some are in the midst of intense struggles, while others are approaching the end of a long and difficult journey. Regardless of where we find ourselves, one truth remains: as long as we live in this present world, challenges and spiritual warfare will continue. The Scriptures remind us that we are not called to walk alone. God has designed His family so that believers can strengthen, encourage, and support one another. Rather than criticizing those who seem weak or condemning those who are struggling, we are commanded to bear one another's burdens and fulfill the law of Christ through love and compassion. I remember a conversation with a minister who suggested that not everyone needs to fast. While his statement may have been t...

The Power of True Faith: Believing in Christ and His Finished Work

Image
June 16,2026 “And these signs shall follow them that believe...” — Mark 16:17 One of the greatest challenges among many believers today is a misunderstanding of some of the statements and teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ. A clear example is found in Mark 16:17, where Jesus declared, “And these signs shall follow them that believe.” Many interpret this to mean that the signs follow those who believe in casting out demons, speaking in tongues, healing the sick, or performing miracles. However, a closer look at the context reveals something deeper. Before making this statement, Jesus rebuked His disciples for their unbelief because they struggled to accept the testimony of those who had seen Him after His resurrection (Mark 16:14). Their greatest challenge was not believing in miracles but believing that Jesus had truly risen from the dead. Therefore, when Jesus said, “These signs shall follow them that believe,” He was speaking primarily of those who believe in Him, His death, buri...

The Two Hands of God: His Mercy and His Judgment

Image
June 13,2026 “For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.” — Psalm 100:5 Psalm 100:5; Psalm 51:17; Matthew 18:23–35; Matthew 5:7; Romans 11:22; Genesis 6:5–13 God is a loving and merciful Father who delights in helping His children in times of weakness and need. Throughout Scripture, He reveals Himself as One who is rich in mercy and abundant in lovingkindness. Anyone who acknowledges their sin, humbles themselves before Him, and sincerely seeks His face will never be rejected. As David declared, “A broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise” (Psalm 51:17). The mercy of God often restrains or delays the judgment that our sins deserve. When genuine repentance is present, His compassionate hand reaches out to restore rather than condemn. Our Lord Jesus Christ beautifully illustrated this truth in the parable of the unforgiving servant (Matthew 18:23–35). A servant who owed an unpayable debt fell before his master and pleaded f...

Christ Enthroned and Ever Active

Image
June 12,2026 Can you imagine this glorious reality: Jesus Christ has ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God. But what does this mean? Does it suggest that He is inactive or merely resting? Certainly not. The Scriptures reveal that Christ's position at the right hand of God signifies His authority, honor, and completed victory over sin, death, and Satan. The accuser of the brethren has been defeated and dislodged from his place of accusation before God. He cannot stand against the glorified Christ who reigns in majesty and power. Yet, Christ is not seated in inactivity. The right hand of God is the place of divine authority from which He actively governs and carries out His heavenly ministry. He continually intercedes for His people, serves as our Advocate before the Father, and rules over all things according to the will of God. When we think about eternity, our minds often reach their limits. Human language struggles to describe the vastness and gl...

Complete in Christ: Living from the Reality of the New Creation

Image
June 10,2026 "And ye are complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power." — Colossians 2:10 One of the most profound truths revealed in Scripture is that every believer is complete in Christ. This completeness is not the result of human effort, self-improvement, religious activities, or the addition of something that was lacking in us. Rather, it is the finished work of God accomplished through Christ Jesus. When we were united with Christ through faith, we did not carry fragments of the old life into the new. The old man was crucified with Christ, and a completely new creation emerged. As the Scripture declares: "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." — 2 Corinthians 5:17 Our new life in Christ is not a renovated version of the old Adamic life; it is an entirely new creation birthed by God. Everything pertaining to this new life was prepared by God Himsel...

The Wisdom of God Revealed Through the Cross

Image
June 9,2026 Before the great revelation of Christ, philosophers such as Socrates, Plato, and many others sought to understand life's deepest mysteries through human reasoning. Despite their intellectual pursuits and profound reflections, their conclusions ultimately pointed toward what they called the "Unknown God" (Acts 17:23). Human wisdom searched, but it could not fully discover the saving purpose of God. The Apostle Paul declared that the wisdom of this world cannot compare with the wisdom of God. He wrote: "For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God." (1 Corinthians 3:19) Again, Paul emphasized that God deliberately chose a method of salvation that human wisdom would never have conceived: "But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise." (1 Corinthians 1:27) To the natural mind, the idea that humanity's redemption and restoration would come through the crucifixion of God's Son appears foolish. Yet the m...

The Anointing You Already Carry

Image
June 6,2026 One of the greatest challenges among believers is not the absence of God's power, but the failure to recognize and utilize the power He has already entrusted to them. It is one thing to be anointed; it is another thing entirely to know that you are anointed and to walk confidently in that reality. Many Christians continually pray for more power and a greater anointing, yet when the Lord graciously releases it, they fail to put it to work. Like an unused muscle, neglected spiritual grace eventually loses its effectiveness in their lives. Then they return, seeking what they have already received but never exercised. The Lord does not anoint His people merely for personal satisfaction, prestige, or self-promotion. Sadly, many seek power without understanding its purpose. Some desire it to fulfill personal ambitions, while others long for recognition among men. However, the true purpose of spiritual power is to glorify Christ and advance His kingdom. The operation of God...

The Gospel at Work Through Faith

Image
June 5,2026 Text: 1 Thessalonians 2:13; Romans 1:16; Mark 9:23 Today, I want to draw our hearts to a unique truth about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We have learned that the Gospel does not come in mere words alone, but in power, in the Holy Spirit, and in full assurance (1 Thessalonians 1:5). The words we receive from the Lord are not the words of men; they are the words of the living God—Spirit-filled, life-giving, and power-packed to transform lives. However, for the Word of God to produce its intended effect in our lives, it must be received with faith. The Apostle Paul wrote: "For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe" (1 Thessalonians 2:13). Notice that the Word works effectually in those who believe. Throughout His earthly ministry, Jesus often asked people, "D...

Knowing God: The Source of Strength and True Stature

Image
June 4,2026 One of the greatest challenges many believers face is not the absence of God, for God is omnipresent and ever-present with His people. Rather, the challenge is a lack of confidence in Him, insufficient knowledge of who He is, what He is capable of doing, and an understanding of His ways. This is why a hungry and thirsty heart continually cries, "Show me Your glory and teach me Your ways" (Exodus 33:18; Psalm 25:4). When the Lord commissioned Joshua to lead Israel into the Promised Land and divide the territories of the Amorites, Perizzites, Canaanites, and other nations, He repeatedly commanded him to be strong and courageous (Joshua 1:6–9). Although God had already given Joshua the assurance of victory, He understood the tendency of human nature to focus more on visible battles than on the invisible power of God. Human sight often magnifies the size of obstacles while diminishing the greatness of the God who has promised victory. This same question confronts ever...

The Word Comes in Power, the Holy Ghost, and Full Assurance

Image
June 3,2026 “For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance...” — 1 Thessalonians 1:5 “The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” — John 6:63 “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” — Romans 10:17 The teaching mandate upon my life began with a clear word from the Lord: “You will teach the Word.” Since that divine instruction came from Him, I have found it difficult to go through a day without teaching—whether verbally or through written exhortations. Every opportunity to share God's truth is, for me, an act of obedience to the Lord who commissioned me. But where does this Word that we teach, preach, and publish originate? To understand the value of a thing, one must understand its source. The source of this Word is God Himself—the One whose integrity, character, nature, and eternal faithfulness testify that He is Truth. He is not a man that He should lie, neit...

The Blessing of Godly Relationships

Image
June 2,2026 Key Scriptures: Proverbs 27:17; Ephesians 2:6; Hebrews 10:24–25; Proverbs 13:20 Do you have people in your life who constantly remind you of prayer, the Scriptures, worship, purpose, excellence in business, or a deeper walk with God? If you do, cherish them and keep them close. The Bible says, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another” (Proverbs 27:17). Even the sharpest blade can become dull over time and require another piece of iron to restore its edge. Likewise, there are moments in our lives when we need the influence, encouragement, wisdom, and correction of others to help us regain focus and remain aligned with God's purpose. God places people in our lives for reasons. In fact, I can confidently say that some individuals, ministries, and even denominations serve as reminders of how our lives ought to be lived. Through them, God challenges us to grow, learn, and become better disciples of Christ. I deeply appreciate those who contribute positive...
