Knowing God: The Source of Strength and True Stature

June 4,2026

One of the greatest challenges many believers face is not the absence of God, for God is omnipresent and ever-present with His people. Rather, the challenge is a lack of confidence in Him, insufficient knowledge of who He is, what He is capable of doing, and an understanding of His ways. This is why a hungry and thirsty heart continually cries, "Show me Your glory and teach me Your ways" (Exodus 33:18; Psalm 25:4).

When the Lord commissioned Joshua to lead Israel into the Promised Land and divide the territories of the Amorites, Perizzites, Canaanites, and other nations, He repeatedly commanded him to be strong and courageous (Joshua 1:6–9). Although God had already given Joshua the assurance of victory, He understood the tendency of human nature to focus more on visible battles than on the invisible power of God. Human sight often magnifies the size of obstacles while diminishing the greatness of the God who has promised victory.

This same question confronts every believer today: Do you truly know your God? Scripture declares, "The people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits" (Daniel 11:32). Notice that strength is not first found in physical appearance, social status, intelligence, or natural ability. True strength is found in the knowledge of God. Your real stature is not determined by whether you are tall or short, rich or poor, strong or weak in the natural sense. Your true stature is measured by your revelation of God and your confidence in Him.

As your knowledge of God increases, so does your spiritual strength. And from that strength comes the ability to accomplish great things for His kingdom. The exploits spoken of in Scripture are the natural outcome of a life rooted in the knowledge of God.

Furthermore, your spiritual stature does not diminish during seasons of weakness. God's grace remains sufficient even when human strength fails. The Lord told Paul, "My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9). In moments when you feel inadequate, God's power is still at work within you.

Therefore, embrace the stature that God has given you rather than the identity the world seeks to impose upon you. Refuse to measure yourself by human standards. Instead, grow in the knowledge of God, walk confidently in His promises, and allow His grace to define who you are. May you return to the reality of your true self in God and stand in the fullness of the stature He has ordained for you.
