When Jesus Speaks: The Word That Meets Your Need
February 26,2026 Every person who encountered Jesus Christ received a word specifically tailored to their deepest need. To Peter, formerly Simon the son of Jonah, He said, “You are Simon… you shall be called Cephas” (John 1:42). A reed became a rock. Instability met divine transformation. The word he received addressed his destiny—he needed firmness, and Christ made him a foundation stone. To Andrew, and later to Philip, the call was simple yet life-altering: “Follow Me” (John 1:43). Direction replaced wandering. Purpose replaced routine. The solution to their lives was alignment with the Master. To Nathanael, a man described as an Israelite without deceit (John 1:47), Jesus declared: “You shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man” (John 1:51).
