The Word Comes in Power, the Holy Ghost, and Full Assurance
June 3,2026
“For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance...” — 1 Thessalonians 1:5
“The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” — John 6:63
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” — Romans 10:17
The teaching mandate upon my life began with a clear word from the Lord: “You will teach the Word.” Since that divine instruction came from Him, I have found it difficult to go through a day without teaching—whether verbally or through written exhortations. Every opportunity to share God's truth is, for me, an act of obedience to the Lord who commissioned me.
But where does this Word that we teach, preach, and publish originate? To understand the value of a thing, one must understand its source. The source of this Word is God Himself—the One whose integrity, character, nature, and eternal faithfulness testify that He is Truth. He is not a man that He should lie, neither the son of man that He should repent. Therefore, the words that proceed from Him are not mere human expressions; they come through three divine channels: Power, the Holy Ghost, and Full Assurance.
The Word comes in Power because God is the Author of all power. He is omnipotent, and His Word carries His divine ability. When received by a believing heart, it heals, delivers, strengthens, restores, and breaks every yoke of oppression. God's Word is never powerless; it accomplishes what He sends it to do.
The Word comes in the Holy Ghost because it is Spirit and Life. Jesus declared, “The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” These words are not empty letters on a page. While the letter alone kills, the Spirit gives life. Every Word received in faith carries divine life and is commissioned to produce God's intended result—whether healing, transformation, encouragement, deliverance, wisdom, or direction. The life of Christ is embedded within His Word.
The Word also comes in Much Assurance because it is founded upon God's unchanging nature and unfailing promises. It is the sure Word of prophecy that cannot fail. From the foundation of the world, God's Word has remained steadfast and trustworthy. Throughout history, He has demonstrated His faithfulness: opening the Red Sea, parting the Jordan River, raising Lazarus from the dead, restoring sight to blind Bartimaeus, and fulfilling every promise spoken by His mouth. By two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we have strong consolation and confidence in His Word.
Therefore, as you receive God's Word in this Month of Rejoicing, may it create abundant reasons for rejoicing in your life. May the power of God be manifested in your circumstances, may the life of Christ flow through every area of your being, and may His unfailing promises bring you into testimonies that will cause you to rejoice and give Him glory.
