Kingdom of God; Beyond Human Reasoning

Image
The Kingdom of God: Beyond Human Reasoning April 27,2025 Romans 14:17 - "For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit." - 1 Corinthians 1:20 - "Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?" - 2 Corinthians 4:4 - "The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ." - Ecclesiastes 3:11 - "He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end." A Spiritual Reality The Kingdom of God is not about external things like food and drink, but about spiritual experiences like power, love, and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17). It's a reality that transcends human understanding. Limitations of Human Logic P...

Prioritizing Reconciliation; Unlocking the Power for Answered Prayer

Image
Prioritizing Reconciliation: Unlocking the Power of Answered Prayers April 25,2025 Settling Challenges When praying, if we remember a challenge or issue with someone, the Lord recommends settling it before continuing our conversation with Him (Matthew 5:23-24). This doesn't mean our prayer is canceled, but rather paused. Heaven's Attention Heaven remains attentive, waiting for us to address the issue. Unresolved conflicts can hinder our prayers, and God is eager to see us reconcile with others. The Importance of Forgiveness Letting go of grudges and anger is crucial. The Bible advises us not to let the sun go down on our anger (Ephesians 4:26). Our prayers are not canceled, but answers are tied to our obedience in forgiving others. Relevant Scriptures - Matthew 5:23-24 - "If you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother....

The Assurance of Forgiveness: A Matter of Faith

Image
The Assurance of Forgiveness: A Matter of Faith April 23,2025 John 4:24 - "God is a Spirit." - Romans 10:13 - "Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." - 1 John 1:7 - "The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin." - John 1:12 - "To them He gave the power to become sons of God." Forgiveness Beyond Senses Being forgiven by God is not determined by our senses or emotions. The outcome of forgiveness doesn't rely on how we feel but on God's promise. As the Bible says, "God is a Spirit" (John 4:24), and He has given us assurance that "whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Romans 10:13). Faith Over Feelings Our believing is not based on dreams, physical health, or experiences but on faith. Whether we have good or bad days, God's forgiveness is not conditional on our circumstances. If we have received Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are forgiven. The Value of the Blood The scr...

A Call to Repentance: Restoring the Sanctity of the Church

Image
A Call to Repentance: Restoring the Sanctity of the Church April 22,2025 Matthew 6:24 - "You cannot serve God and mammon." - Acts 6:4 - "We will devote ourselves to prayer and the ministry of the word." - Matthew 14:13-21 - The feeding of the 5,000. - Psalm 2:9 - "You shall break them with a rod of iron." The Kingdom Lifestyle The recent trends in some churches and local assemblies are concerning. Investing in jesting, comedians, Nollywood & Hollywood stars, and worldly musicians to pull crowds is a clear indication that mammon has taken over. We can not serve God and mammon (Matthew 6:24). A Biblical Perspective Nowhere in the scriptures do we read about Jesus using comedy to relate to people. Instead, He preached the kingdom, healed the sick, and fed the multitudes. The apostles prioritized the ministry of the word and prayer over serving tables (Acts 6:4). A Lesson from Jesus Have you wondered what Jesus used to pull a crowd of over 5,000 without sp...

Divine Paradox; The Foolishness of God

Image
April 18,2025 The pursuit of wisdom has captivated human minds for centuries. Philosophers like Socrates and Plato have pondered the mysteries of life, but their findings often fall short. The Bible reminds us that 1 Corinthians 1:19,  For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. The Redemption Conundrum The concept of redemption through crucifixion may seem absurd to the world, but it's a fundamental aspect of Christianity. God used the "foolish things of this world to confound the wise" (1 Corinthians 1:27). The sacrifice of Jesus Christ, God's Son, replaced the need for any form of  sacrifice. The Unfolding of God's Plan Jesus' death was not a suicide, but an execution carried out by the Roman authorities under Pontius Pilate's verdict. The Jewish leaders delivered Him to death, but God raised Him back to life. As Peter said, "The God of our ancestors raised Jesus ...

Fruitfulness in the Kingdom

Image
Fruitfulness in the Kingdom April 17,2025 John 15, Matthew 21:28-32; 9:37-38,Acts 1:8 Jesus teaches us that in the Kingdom of God, it's not about the effort we put in, but about the fruit we bear (John 15). God rewards fruitfulness, not mere activity. As laborers in His vineyard, we must produce fruit that pleases Him. The Parable of the Two Laborers The parable of the two laborers (Matthew 21:28-32) shows that God values obedience and fruitfulness over mere words. One laborer initially refused to work but later changed his mind and did the work, while the other agreed to work but didn't follow through. God is pleased with the first laborer's actions, highlighting the importance of producing fruit. Your Harvest The Father's harvest is not limited; it's boundless. As His laborers, we've been appointed to reap the harvest and bring fruit to Him (Matthew 9:37-38). Jesus said, "You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends...

The Danger of Misplaced Worship

Image
The Danger of Misplaced Worship April 16,2025 Matthew 7:21 Revelation 13:1-18 In the early days of the church, apostles like Peter and Paul were quick to deflect attention from themselves, even after performing miracles. Instead, they pointed people to Jesus Christ, the true source of power and wonder. Today, however, many claim credit for God's miracles and signs. A Pattern of Humility Peter and Paul's actions serve as a model for humility and recognition of God's sovereignty. When confronted with potential worship, they redirected attention to Jesus, emphasizing their humanity and God's divine power. Warning Signs of Deception The Bible warns that not everyone who claims to represent Christ or performs miracles in His name truly belongs to Him. Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 7:21). We must be cautious of those who prioritize signs and wonders over the genuine fruits of faith. The En...

Embracing the Media of the Age for Spiritual Growth

Image
Embracing the Media of the Age for Spiritual Growth April 14,2025 Joshua 1:8, 2 Timothy 3:16-17 In every generation, God provides means to spread His Word and deepen our understanding of the Scriptures. From Martin Luther's use of print media to make the Bible widely available, to modern-day technology, we have numerous tools at our disposal to engage with God's Word. Today, our phones can be powerful tools for studying the Scriptures, with access to audio Bibles, dramatized versions, and online resources. As stated in Joshua 1:8, "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth." We can leverage these tools to immerse ourselves in God's Word. Print Media: Reading the Bible and other spiritual materials can deepen our understanding and connection with God's Word. Audio Media: Listening to audio Bibles, anointed messages, and sermons can provide new insights and help us stay connected to God even while busy. With advancing technology, we may soon see visu...

The Power of Community: A Christ-Like Nature

Image
The Power of Community: A Christ-Like Nature April 13,2025 Jesus Christ, during His time on earth, exemplified a life of community and togetherness. He walked with the three, the twelve, the seventy, and even the five hundred. This serves as a powerful model for Christian living. Jesus' Example 1. Ministry with Others: Jesus never walked alone; He was always surrounded by others, whether it was the disciples or the crowds (Matthew 10:1-4, Luke 10:1-24). 2. *?Transparency and Accountability: Jesus did everything in the open, never in secret, which allowed Him to say, "I have spoken openly to the world... in secret I have said nothing" (John 18:20). 3. Prayer for Unity: Before departing, Jesus prayed for His followers, saying, "Keep them from the evil one... Sanctify them in the truth" (John 17:15-17), emphasizing the importance of community and unity. The Apostle Paul's Teachings 1. Crucified with Christ: Paul wrote, "We were crucified with Christ" ...

Seeking God with Determination

Image
Seeking God with Determination April 12,2025 "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." - James 1:5 "And Solomon went up there to the bronze altar before the Lord, which was at the tabernacle of meeting, and offered a thousand burnt offerings on it. - 2 Chronicles 1:6 King Solomon's story teaches us the importance of seeking God with determination and the right heart. When he became king, he prioritized understanding God's ways and sought wisdom to lead Israel effectively. Instead of taking shortcuts, he offered a thousand burnt offerings to God, demonstrating his commitment and willingness to pay the price. Solomon's encounter with God was remarkable, and he received wisdom, understanding, and blessings beyond measure. The key takeaway is that we must know how to seek God and be willing to pay the price for a meaningful encounter. Are you determined to meet with ...

The fall of a Beautiful Creation

Image
The Fall of a Beautiful Creation April 9,2025 "How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!" - Isaiah 14:12 "Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall." - Proverbs 16:18 The devil's present appearance is a reflection of his pride and rebellion against God. His beauty, once a glorious attribute, was corrupted by sin. As a cherub who covered God's throne, he was anointed with beauty and perfection. However, his pride led to his downfall, and his beauty was lost forever. The darkness that covers the earth began with the devil himself. Sin entered his heart through pride, whereas for humans, it was through disobedience. A key difference between the devil's sin and humanity's sin is that the devil's was self-induced, while humans were lured by an external force. It's essential to be mindful of the motivations behind our wor...

Living Stones in a Corrupt World

Image
Living Stones in a Corrupt World April 7,2025 "Do not be conformed to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." - Romans 12:2 "You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house..." - 1 Peter 2:5 It's possible to reside in a corrupt community without compromising your values. However, many Christians struggle to recall their true identity and purpose. As believers, we are often influenced by the world around us, forgetting that we possess an incorruptible nature. We are called "living stones" with Jesus as the chief cornerstone. If we are not living stones, we are merely dead stones, unable to participate in God's building. Overcoming life's challenges is a testament to our faith. While we are all born physically, not everyone is born again spiritually. As children of God, we have additional responsibilities and the gift of eternal life. May we strive to live with integrity and pu...

The Deprive Strength of Pride

Image
The Deceptive Strength of Pride April 4,2025 "Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall."(Proverbs 16:18) There's a subtle weakness that masquerades as strength, rendering many ineffective. This weakness is pride, the same sin that led to Lucifer's downfall. "For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend to the heavens, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God...'" (Isaiah 14:13) While humanity's downfall was rooted in disobedience, the devil's demise was caused by pride. He became arrogant, believing himself superior to other cherubim, and sought worship for himself. Those consumed by pride perceive themselves as the center of the universe, exalting themselves above others. However, this perceived strength is merely a mirage, disappearing when confronted with the truth. "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."* (1 Peter 5:5) Let us weigh our actions, recognizing the destructive nature of pr...

Speaking from the Heart: The Power of Our Words

Image
Speaking from the Heart of God: The Power of Our Words April 3,2025 "Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name."(Genesis 2:19) When God created Adam, He formed him in His own image and likeness. As a test of Adam's likeness to Him, God brought the animals to Adam to see what he would name them. In essence, God was evaluating Adam's ability to speak from His heart and reflect His nature. Adam's words carried authority, and whatever he named the creatures, God stamped as correct. However, the problem with humanity today is that we often speak from the wrong source. Instead of speaking from the heart of God, we speak from the devil's influence, and our words bring forth negative consequences. We see this in the world's attempts to redefine God's original design, such as distorting the cre...

From Dust to Glory: Our Eternal Transformation

Image
April 2,2025 "Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it." (Ecclesiastes 12:7) *"And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being."* (Genesis 2:7) As humans, we originated from the dust of the earth, and our physical bodies are sustained by the food we eat, which also comes from the earth. However, our earthly bodies are temporary and will eventually return to the earth. But what about our spirits? Where do they come from, and where will they go? *"The spirit returns to God who gave it." (Ecclesiastes 12:7) Our spirits are eternal and will return to God, but what will we be like when we see Him? *"Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is." (1 John 3:2) Apostle Pa...

The True Meaning of Seed Sowing: Investing in Human Development

Image
April 1,2025 "Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap." (Galatians 6:7-8) The concept of seed sowing has been misunderstood by many to solely mean giving money. However, this limited perspective neglects the fact that every interaction we have with others can be a form of seed sowing. Our words, actions, and investments in people's lives can have a profound impact on their development and future. As the Bible says: "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits." (Proverbs 18:21) The words we speak can either build up or tear down, and they have the power to shape the lives of those around us. Investing in human development, whether it's through mentoring, teaching, or simply being a positive influence, is a powerful form of seed sowing. As Jesus said: "If you do this to any of these, you have done it to me." (Matthew 25:40) By investing in others, we are ultimately investing in the kingdom...
