A Call to Repentance: Restoring the Sanctity of the Church
A Call to Repentance: Restoring the Sanctity of the Church
April 22,2025
Matthew 6:24 - "You cannot serve God and mammon."
- Acts 6:4 - "We will devote ourselves to prayer and the ministry of the word."
- Matthew 14:13-21 - The feeding of the 5,000.
- Psalm 2:9 - "You shall break them with a rod of iron."
The Kingdom Lifestyle
The recent trends in some churches and local assemblies are concerning. Investing in jesting, comedians, Nollywood & Hollywood stars, and worldly musicians to pull crowds is a clear indication that mammon has taken over. We can not serve God and mammon (Matthew 6:24).
A Biblical Perspective
Nowhere in the scriptures do we read about Jesus using comedy to relate to people. Instead, He preached the kingdom, healed the sick, and fed the multitudes. The apostles prioritized the ministry of the word and prayer over serving tables (Acts 6:4).
A Lesson from Jesus
Have you wondered what Jesus used to pull a crowd of over 5,000 without speakers? It was the miraculous provision of food, demonstrating God's power and love (Matthew 14:13-21). We must return to the Lord and focus on showcasing His power and love.
Prioritizing the Kingdom
If people want to learn philosophy, psychology, or other worldly subjects, they know where to go – to the cinema or educational centers. They don't need our permission or endorsement. Our focus should be on the kingdom, prayer, and the ministry of the word.
A Call to Repentance
The church's focus should be on conquering territories, reaching tribes and nations, and spreading the gospel. Instead of comedy and entertainment, we should be fervent in prayer and proclaiming the word. The Arab world, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, and many others are still wallowing in darkness.
We must return to the biblical model of church ministry.
