The Deceptive Strength of Pride

"Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall."(Proverbs 16:18)

There's a subtle weakness that masquerades as strength, rendering many ineffective. This weakness is pride, the same sin that led to Lucifer's downfall.

"For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend to the heavens, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God...'" (Isaiah 14:13)

While humanity's downfall was rooted in disobedience, the devil's demise was caused by pride. He became arrogant, believing himself superior to other cherubim, and sought worship for himself.

Those consumed by pride perceive themselves as the center of the universe, exalting themselves above others. However, this perceived strength is merely a mirage, disappearing when confronted with the truth.

"God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."* (1 Peter 5:5)

Let us weigh our actions, recognizing the destructive nature of pride. May we remain humble, acknowledging our place within God's creation.
