The Roll Call of Destiny: Ensuring Your Name is Written
The Roll Call of Destiny: Ensuring Your Name is Written

Matthew 10:1-42, Mark 3:13-19, Luke 6:12-16, 9:1-6
In Matthew 10:1-42, Jesus commissions His twelve disciples, empowering them to cast out unclean spirits, heal sicknesses, and diseases. The Bible emphasizes that Jesus "called His twelve disciples to Himself" and gave them authority over darkness (Matthew 10:1). The naming of the disciples in verse 2 is not a coincidence; it signifies a divine roll call, ensuring that each one is mature, ready, and accountable for the assignment.
Perhaps you have struggled to exercise your authority in Christ because you're unsure if your name is on the list. You may feel timid, afraid, or silent, wondering if you are truly called and empowered for the task. However, those who are sent out by Jesus have their names written, and the darkness recognizes and trembles at their authority.
The story of the seven sons of Sceva in Acts 19:11-16 illustrates the importance of being sent by Jesus. When they attempted to cast out demons without being commissioned by Jesus, the demons responded, "Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?" (Acts 19:15).
As a believer, it's essential to be confident that your name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life (Revelation 21:27). When you're assured of your identity and authority in Christ, you'll boldly carry out your assignment, casting out demons, raising the dead, and healing the sick.
Reflection Questions:
1. Are you confident that your name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life?
2. Have you been struggling to exercise your authority in Christ?
3. What steps can you take to ensure you're living out your divine assignment?
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for the assurance of my salvation and the authority You have given me in Christ. Help me to confidently carry out my assignment, knowing that my name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life. Amen.
