The Fruit of Life — God’s Antidote to Good and Evil

October 28,2025

“And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it:
for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” — Genesis 2:16–17

The life of Christ is the simple and pure expression of God the Father revealed on earth. Jesus came not only to save us but to show us the way of life — the life that flows from God alone.

An evil tree cannot bring forth good fruit (Matthew 7:18). Humanity, ever since the fall, has been entangled in the fruit of good and evil. Without Christ, we live as mixed trees — capable of some good but corrupted by the root of evil.

Christ came to delete that mixture within us — to remove the fruit of good and evil and replace it with the fruit of life. Have you ever wondered why the fruit was not called the “fruit of good” only? Because even a trace of evil corrupts the whole — “A little leaven leavens the whole lump” (Galatians 5:9).
A life mixed with good and evil can never produce perfect righteousness, for the source itself is defiled.

The Consequences of the Fruit of Good and Evil

It reduced man from glory to dust (Genesis 3:19).

It gave the devil access to man’s flesh and the world.

It confined man to a dual nature—never fully good, never fully evil. Jesus said, “There is none good but One, that is, God” (Mark 10:18).

It made human behavior unstable — one can be good today and evil tomorrow.

It corrupted human reasoning, making man suspicious and self-centered.

It empowered evil to dominate good, because the devil operates within that corruption.

The Wisdom of God Revealed in Christ

Why didn’t the devil tempt man with the tree of life instead? Because in the fruit of life, the devil has no place. It represents God’s eternal nature — pure, incorruptible, and unapproachable to darkness. To offer it would have been his defeat.

That’s why Jesus came as the embodiment of the Tree of Life. He declared,

“I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” — John 10:10
“In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.” — John 1:4

The only antidote to the fruit of good and evil is the fruit of life — Christ Himself.
He did not come to improve your “good” but to give you a new life.

A Call to Receive the Fruit of Life

If you are tired of the endless cycle of good and evil, come to the Way, the Truth, and the Life — Jesus Christ.
Pray this prayer from your heart:

“Lord Jesus, Fruit of Life, come into my heart.
Be the Lord of my life.
Deliver me from the bondage of good and evil,
and fill me with Your divine life.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
