Exercising the Authority of Christ
October 26,2025
Scriptural Foundation: Luke 10:19, Philippians 2:9–11, Mark 11:23–24, Romans 8:37
Understanding the Concept of Authority
When you understand the concept of authority, you begin to grasp the depth of what Jesus meant when He said,
“Behold, I give unto you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
— Luke 10:19 (NKJV)
Notice that Jesus did not say some powers of the enemy, but all. This means that every manifestation of darkness—whether sickness, oppression, lack, or fear—has already been placed under your authority in Christ.
Even when your declaration seems to yield no immediate result, it does not mean the authority is absent. Authority is constant, not conditional. Faith must persist until manifestation comes.
The Power of Persistent Decree
When a hammer strikes a rock, the first blow may appear ineffective. Yet, unseen cracks begin to form within. With continued strikes, the rock eventually breaks.
So it is when you decree God’s word. Every declaration weakens the resistance of darkness until breakthrough comes.
The authority you have in Christ empowers you not only to command evil forces to depart but also to decide where they go. When Jesus cast out the legion of demons, they pleaded,
“Do not send us into the abyss.” — Luke 8:31
Why? Because they recognized His authority to command their destination.
Your Voice Carries Power
Your sickness hears you. Your financial lack hears you. Every unpalatable situation hears you, because all creation recognizes divine authority.
Continue to speak in faith, for Jesus said,
“Whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”
— Mark 11:24 (NKJV)
Authority is not about what you feel—it’s about who you are in Christ.
The Source of Your Authority
The authority you operate in is not yours by merit, but by inheritance.
“God has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow—in heaven, on earth, and under the earth.”
— Philippians 2:9–10
In Christ, you share this dominion. The authority of Jesus empowers you to rule over:
The atmosphere – “the birds of the air”
The marine realm – “the fish of the sea”
The territorial realm – “everything that creeps upon the earth” (Genesis 1:28)
Remember,
“The heavens are the Lord’s, but the earth He has given to the children of men.” — Psalm 115:16
You have divine jurisdiction here on earth—exercise it boldly in the name of Jesus!
Declare and Testify
Now is the time to exercise your authority. Speak with confidence, command every contrary force to bow, and testify of your victory.
“In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” — Romans 8:37
