Purging Sin: A Divine Task

September 8,2025

Purging oneself of sin is a divine task facilitated by the Holy Spirit, who implements God's grace in our lives. However, this process requires our willingness and determination to leave sin behind. Apostle Paul's question in Romans 6:1, "Shall we continue in sin and still expect grace to abound?" emphasizes the importance of abandoning sin to truly experience God's grace.

The Challenge of Dealing with Sin
Dealing with sin in one's life demands determination and readiness to let go. If we still find pleasure or utility in sin, we're unlikely to abandon it. Whether it's substance abuse, toxic relationships, or other vices, as long as we see them as necessary for survival or enjoyment, we'll struggle to break free.

The Mathematics of Sin and Holiness

Let's consider a simple equation:

Sin + You = Vessel unto Dishonor (Useless before the Lord)

Without Sin (Holiness) + You = Vessel unto Honor (Fit for the Lord's Use)

The Path to Cleansing
Our readiness to be cleansed gives us consideration for the Lord's use. Let's strive to be cleansed, both in secret and in the open. May God bless and guide us on this journey.
