The Resurrected Jesus: A Glorious State
August 8,2025
The former treatise I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began to do and to teach (Acts 1:1). This verse indicates that to better understand the Book of Acts, we should consider what Luke wrote before. Thus, we conclude that the Book of Acts of the Apostles is a continuation of the Gospel according to Luke.
Comparing scriptures from Luke and Acts: Luke 24:36-43 & Acts 1:9-11. In Luke 24:36-43, the Resurrected Jesus showed He had flesh and bones, could be handled (in contrast to a spirit), and even ate broiled fish and honeycomb. This implies Jesus returned to a state like Adam's before the fall - but in a better state, with the "fruit of life" that man missed in the garden. Scripture says we are in Him (Colossians 2:10).
In Acts 1:9, Jesus was taken up into heaven. In what state? 100% physical, 100% spiritual, with the "Fruit of life"? His flesh and bones were intact, not broken according to scriptures, and won't be thrown away. "We are complete in Him, the head of principalities and power" (Colossians 2:10). In Adam's original state, man was to have dominion over all God created.
We will look more into this tomorrow. Stay tuned!
