Waiting on God: Overcoming Silence and Seeking Divine Guidance

Waiting on God: Overcoming Silence and Seeking Divine Guidance

March 18,2025

Have you ever felt like God is silent, despite your persistent prayers? Has the enemy whispered lies, making you doubt God's presence or concern for your situation? It's essential to remain consistent and patient, waiting for God's answer rather than seeking alternative sources.

In 1 Samuel 28, King Saul sought God's guidance but received only silence due to his unrepentant heart. Instead of humbling himself and seeking God's mercy, Saul turned to a medium, seeking answers from a forbidden source. This decision led him down a path of destruction for what he saw at the medium was never Samuel but a demon. You can not use unrighteous means to call fought a righteous. It is appointed for man to die once and so can not be call fought by an man but must appear before judgement. In fact, in 1 Chronicles 10:13-14, the Bible clearly states that "Saul died because he was unfaithful to the Lord; he did not keep the word of the Lord and even consulted a medium for guidance, and did not inquire of the Lord. So the Lord put him to death and turned the kingdom over to David son of Jesse."

In contrast, David, in 1 Samuel 30, faced a devastating loss when his family and belongings were taken captive. Despite his grief, David encouraged himself in the Lord and sought God's direction. God answered, and David received the guidance he needed to recover all that was lost.

The key difference between Saul and David was their persistence and determination to seek God's guidance. David's faith and trust in God's mercy and love enabled him to overcome the challenges he faced.

*Reflection Questions*
1. Are you facing a situation where you feel like God is silent?
2. How can you encourage yourself in the Lord and seek His guidance?
3. What are some potential consequences of seeking answers from alternative sources?

*Prayer*
Dear Heavenly Father, help me to remain patient and persistent in seeking Your guidance. Forgive me for any times I may have sought answers from forbidden sources. I trust in Your mercy and love, and I know that You will perfect that which concerns me. Amen.
